Which states does your trucking company operate in?

Based in New York’s Albany Capital Region, Magnet Transport Group specializes in trucking services from Maine to Maryland. We offer daily trucking services all along the East Coast, including New York, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, New Jersey and Virginia, and we can provide trucking services anywhere else in the U.S. upon request. Are your drivers licensed, trained, and insured?

Yes, our trucking company carries a $1,000,000 liability policy, as well as motor truck cargo insurance up to $100,000, including non-owned trailer insurance. We also carry Workers’ Compensation Insurance.

In addition, all of our truck drivers speak English and have a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), meaning they can legally operate Class A, B and C vehicles. They also have Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC cards), and are equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, high-visibility safety vests and steel toe boots.

What size and type of trailers do you have?

We have an entire fleet of trailers, including dry vans and Conestoga trailers, flatbeds and step decks with and without retractable curtains, flatbed stretches, single and double drop step deck trailers and stretches, and RGN trailers. Our trailers range from 48’ to 85’ in length, and our retractable curtain trailers have up to 124” clearance.

What kind of freight do you haul?

Magnet Transport can haul just about anything that our equipment will legally allow us to transport safely. We haul a variety of freight for all types of industries, and we specialize in out-of-gauge, oversize cargo that is too heavy, too wide, too tall or too complicated for other trucking companies.

Do you haul hazardous materials?

Although Magnet Transport does not have a hazmat certificate with the Department of Transportation, some of our drivers have undergone specialized training and earned a Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements on their CDLs, allowing us to offer periodic hazmat hauling.

Do you haul oversize or wide loads?

Yes, oversize trucking is our specialty, and we are experts when it comes to understanding the complex state laws and permitting required for transporting non-standard and specialized freight.

Our experienced drivers provide daily oversize and wide load trucking services across the East Coast, including New York, New Jersey, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and Virginia, and we offer oversize load hauling anywhere else in the U.S. upon request.

Do you provide your own pilot cars and oversize permitting?

When we haul oversize freight, we provide all pilot cars needed for each state we travel through, including police escorts, if required. We also obtain all permits and routing requirements for the entire trip.

Can you arrange same-day shipments?

Yes, for same-day shipments, you can count on our hot shot trucking service in Albany, NY to get your freight delivered exactly as promised, the first time, on time, every time. Period. For most of our coverage area, if we get loaded first thing in the morning, we can deliver the same day.

Do you provide rigging services if needed to assist in loading?

Our drivers may be able to help load and unload at the customer’s request, including providing rigging services, forklifts, telehandlers or cranes, if necessary. If you need help loading and unloading, please let us know when asking for a quote so that we can plan accordingly.

What is the difference between FTL and LTL?

FTL stands for full truckload, or shipments that need an entire truck’s capacity, while LTL stands for less-than-truckload, or shipments that do not fill an entire freight trailer. Magnet Transport specializes in same-day, out-of-gauge, LTL trucking services from Maine to Maryland, and anywhere else in the U.S. upon request.

How are your trucking rates calculated?

Our trucking rates are based on a combination of distance, weight, length, height, density, ease of handling, value, liability, tolls, timeframe, etc. Your exact rate can be determined with a conversation.
